The artof speaking
Silke Brendt’s practice for speech therapy and reading and spelling support. Seven experienced therapists care for your communication health with empathy and professional expertise.

Holistic
expertise
Speech therapy treats voice, speech, language, and swallowing disorders across childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. It includes counselling, diagnostics, and individual therapy.
You will need a prescription for speech therapy from your doctor — for example a pediatrician, ENT specialist, neurologist, GP, dentist, orthodontist, or internist.
For us, speech therapy means much more
- — Working from strengths instead of deficits
- — Interdisciplinary collaboration and close teamwork
- — Holistic therapy approaches
- — Thoughtful use of digital media
Comprehensive diagnostics and therapy for language, speech, voice, swallowing, and myofunctional disorders for all age groups.
Evidence-based assessment and individual support for reading and spelling difficulties in children and adolescents.
Individual support for arithmetic disorders with evidence-based methods for children and adolescents.
Holistic learning support and cognitive training to strengthen school-related and everyday skills.
Professional treatment in your home, in care facilities, and in social institutions — when medically necessary and prescribed by a doctor.
Therapy in daycare is possible in justified exceptional cases when all-day supportive care is in place, treatment in the facility is medically necessary, and an officially recognized integration or support status usually exists. (Therapeutic Remedies Guideline § 11 para. 2 sentences 1–5)
Treatment is also possible for privately insured patients; reimbursement depends on the tariff and should be clarified in advance with the private insurer (and, if applicable, civil-service aid).
Prevention options
In our practice, therapeutic speech-language treatment is provided with a medical prescription. In addition, we offer preventive group sessions for general communication support.

Neurofunctional reorganization
Human beings have the most differentiated and complex nervous system of all living creatures. We are born with the genetic potential for upright movement, language, and thought.
Neurological organization develops step by step, building from lower neurological levels toward the cortex.
This therapeutic approach revisits developmental stages — from primitive movements through rolling, crawling, and creeping. It also includes reflexive functions such as breathing, sucking, chewing, and swallowing, all of which come before language development.

Where healing
begins
At Alte Bahn 2 in the Herzogenrath-Kohlscheid medical center, you will find a modern practice with 120 square meters of space. A generous reception and waiting area also offers enough room for accompanying family members.
Fully equipped treatment rooms and large windows create a welcoming atmosphere where therapy can unfold. Every room is stocked with therapeutic materials for smooth, focused sessions.
All rooms are fully accessible, including wheelchair-friendly restroom facilities.
Regional
partners
Interdisciplinary collaboration is a core part of our work. We maintain close partnerships with institutions across the Aachen region.
We are more than a
resume
Our team is colorful, lively, and full of heart. Everyone brings their own energy, ideas, and strengths. That diversity is exactly what makes us special.
We laugh together, learn from each other, and support one another so everyone can grow. Here, people are heard, understood, and valued. Creative ideas are encouraged, and we celebrate both small and big successes together.
I love supporting people and creating spaces where everyone can be exactly who they are.
